Caleb Ballou

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Trimtab Impact

Since 2015, Caleb has focused on investing in and advocating for fund managers piloting scalable and replicable solutions to get capital flowing to the people and places that need it most and receive it least. At The Rockefeller Foundation, JP Morgan, and culminating at Trimtab, Caleb has designed and managed catalytic investment strategies with multi sector, multi-asset, global mandates squarely focused on impact first financial innovation. He is a passionate believer that creative finance is an underutilized tool to serve the most neglected markets, underserved populations, and undervalued ecosystems – and is convinced we are living in a time of unprecedented opportunity to shape capital markets for good. Prior to impact investing, Caleb worked in fixed income in Boston and London. He holds a BA in Linguistics from Dartmouth College, MBA and MIA degrees from Columbia University, and is a CFA Charterholder since 2012. Caleb currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with two young children, a small white dog, and his wife.

Workshop Salon: Thematic Trends & Challenges

Salon 5: Unlocking Markets Through Collective Catalytic Capital

This Salon will examine the understated power of aligned investors whose individual commitments, intentionally structured and aggregated, can form vehicles able to absorb risk, send credible market signals, and unlock significantly larger flows of capital.

Through a nuanced conversation on blended finance, shared standards, and cross-sector collaboration, we will explore how coordinated pools of purpose-driven capital can shift incentives, widen access in overlooked markets, and catalyse durable, inclusive, climate-aligned growth at meaningful scale.
