Florence Cheng, Chief Purpose Officer at Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVhk) and Executive Director at the Institute of Community Making, has been at the forefront of "Community Making" since 2018.
Through SVhk’s portfolio, she drives urban social innovations, from capital deployment to programme design, emphasizing collaboration and empowerment at the neighborhood level with strategic projects in Sheung Wan, Sham Shui Po, Kwun Tong, and the Northern Metropolis.
Her expertise extends to advisory services for over 10 corporates, startups, social purpose organizations, and government authorities, where she forms and manages partnerships in impact areas ranging from inclusive employment to family and community well-being. Florence also leads significant cross-sector initiatives, such as the "Community Resilience Fund," supported by five family foundations in collaboration with the Sustainable Finance Initiative, and "Business with Purpose," in partnership with the Hong Kong Management Association, which now boasts over 40 corporate signatories.
A London School of Economics alumna with a background in management consulting, Florence serves on the SIE Fund Task Force of the HKSAR Government’s Commission on Poverty, integrating impact solutions and driving meaningful change in Hong Kong’s urban social fabric as a showcase for the region.
