James Lindsay serves as Director, Investments, and Co-Head of the Builders Bridge investment platform. In this role, he focuses on deploying capital to address system frictions and unlock markets critical to Builders Vision’s “North Stars.” James directs investments in heavy industry and ocean-related innovation, supporting emerging venture capital and private equity fund managers, accelerators, and direct companies.

Prior to establishing the Builders Vision team and platform, James served in a multi-asset role covering the Builders Asset Management portfolios and the Builders Vision Endowment. James possesses over 17 years of cross-industry experience in investing, operations, and in-house mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he worked extensively as a geophysicist in the energy sector, where he engineered multiple capital campaigns and orchestrated over $18 billion in acquisitions and high-profile projects for public and private entities. An entrepreneur at heart, James was a founding member of two startups in the sector, successfully navigating the journey of scaling and exiting a venture for $900 million, and serving as a founding team member for a $1.5 billion exit.
He earned a Master of Business Administration from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, a master’s in Geophysical Engineering from the University of Louisiana, and a bachelor’s degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
