Shervin Sharghy

Founder & CEO

EcoBricks

A former investment banker turned impact entrepreneur, Shervin has dedicated himself to developing a financially viable and scalable solution to the global plastic waste crisis and reducing the environmental harm and carbon footprint of the construction industry. Shervin founded EcoBricks in Hong Kong as a 100% circular economy solution to the quadruple planetary threats of plastic waste: climate change, pollution, biodiversity and human health. By turning waste that is deemed worthless into high-quality building materials, his mission is to demonstrate that the dividing line between what we call waste and a valuable commodity is simply innovation.

EcoBricks is a circular-economy industrial technology that transforms virtually any type of plastic waste into low-carbon, certified concrete building materials. Its proprietary 100% cold-process drastically reduces the carbon footprint of concrete and recycles plastic waste that no one else can. Their cradle-to-cradle innovation allows 100% of their products to be recycled back into new ones at end-of-life.

In fast-paced lightning pitches, founders will share the challenges they are solving, how their model works, and what type of capital they need to scale. The session is designed to maximise interaction: short pitches, focused Q&A, and plenty of time to connect with founders throughout the day in the Innovation Lab zone.
